Education and Professional Training
Viktoria received her Bachelor Degree in Mathematics with a Minor in Computer Science from the Novosibirsk State University in Russia in 1989. At the University, she focused on Mathematical Models in Economics.
In September 1997, Viktoria moved to the U.S. to attend Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College, City University of New York. In November 1998, she received her Masters Degree in Finance being placed 5th in her class with GPA: 3.94.
Viktoria was awarded Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 2000. She is regarded as one of the first Russian women being awarded this prestigious professional designation.
In 2004 Viktoria obtained a Professional Risk Manager (PRM) designation. Her performance on the professional risk management exam resulted in her nomination for the 2005 PRM Candidate of the Year award and PRM Award of Merit.
In September 2004, Viktoria entered a Certificate in Financial Engineering Program at Columbia University, New York. She received the Certificate in August, 2006.
Since October 2008 Viktoria is enrolled in PhD program in Finance Law at the University of Westminster Law School. Main focus of Viktoria’s research is “Credit Rating Agency Theory and Practice: From the 2007-2008 Crisis to Optimal Regulation”.
Professional Experience
Viktoria is a Senior Director at the Fund and Asset Manager Rating Group at Fitch Ratings in New York. In her current position, Viktoria is responsible for rating money market funds, bond funds, and other public investment vehicles.
Prior to joining Fitch Ratings, Viktoria was at Moody’s Investors Service. She joined Moody’s in February 2001 as an Associate Analysts in the Managed Funds Group and was promoted 3 times during her 6-year tenure with the company. At the time of her departure, Viktoria was an Associate Vice President/Analyst responsible for a large portfolio of credits, for which she performed qualitative and quantitative research. In addition, she led research projects on various issues of portfolio management including quarterly publications of the “Portfolio Management Activities of U.S. Largest Institutional, Retail and Tax-Exempt Money Market Funds”. She also reviewed and updated rating methodologies for managed funds, assisted firm-wide training specialists in production of managed funds training manual and external training courses.
